It's not easy being green...

I like frogs.  I don't know why, but they've become one of my favorite animals.  They're just funny looking and cute at the same time.  I also like science.  Biology in particular.  I always enjoyed learning about plants, animals, the human body.  It fascinated me to see how living things function and work.  When I wrote this poem I was in an Anatomy class and we were dissecting fetal pigs.  Yucky stuff that, and definitely not for everyone, but for me, I enjoyed it.  Anyway, here's my poem.

It's not easy being green...

A sad life it is to be
A frog upon a water lily.
With nothing to do and nothing to see.
The frog just sits in misery.
But then one day the frog gets grabbed, and
Brought to the local science lab.
He's amazed at all he sees.
Until this gas makes him wheeze.
He gets dizzy as things become dark.
And then at last he's lost life's spark.
Students begin to gather around,
And gaze upon the dead, green mound
Of what was once a bored pollywog
That no longer enjoyed his home or bog.
He was bored by all he saw
It didn't excite or fill him with awe.
So instead he's on a slab
And with a scalpel, he gets stabbed.
