unconditionally
why choose me
i'm not perfect
i have flaws
i make mistakes
i'm not impressive
why love me
why am i special
surely there
is someone better
someone smarter
someone who could
give you more
why choose this broken
substandard being
with countless imperfections
but to you
those things don't matter
your focus is different
you see past my flaws
my imperfections
my rough spots
instead
you see my strengths
and all of my beauty
you see more
you see my heart
you see me for who i am
you see me for what i am
and for what i want to be
you see me for what matters most
as the one
you love
unconditionally
Here's a poem about love that's unconditional. Why ask all the questions of the reasons why someone loves you when you have all these faults? They know you have them, yet to them it does not matter. Why I bet that they probably have some of their own. And you probably are the same way. But even with those faults of yours, a person who truly and unconditionally loves you will see past those imperfections and love you for all that you have to offer and all that you are.
I'm deciding to post this poem too just because I'M SO BEHIND WITH POSTS FOR THIS MONTH! Maybe December will be better. :-)
This is a blog where I'm helping develop my poetic creativity and sharing it with those who also enjoy writing and reading poems.

Life is Beautiful
Life is Beautiful
If you could change your life...
If you had the chance to start things over...
Would you?
Erase all your mistakes.
Remove imperfections.
Delete all the bad memories.
Things could be different.
Life would be new.
You could make it yours.
Do things differently.
But when you think about it...
We learn from mistakes.
We grow from experiences.
We gain from relationships.
Life gives us lessons every single day.
It's a wonderful thing.
So why change it?
Why worry?
Your past is your past.
That cannot change.
It's a magnificent misfortune.
So look to the future.
And see where it leads you.
Life is beautiful.
It only happens once.
It's yours.
It's yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Live it.
There are times where I think, "What would have happened if I had/hadn't done this?" Do you ever think that? And then afterwards you wonder if things could have been better for you? Sometimes then you think I wish I could change it. Fix it. Make things different. What I did didn't go according to my plan. Well, it's not under your control to make all those changes. What you've got is it. Make the best of it. Look to your future because your past cannot be altered. I often need to remind myself of that.
Do you remember the line from The Lion King? Rafiki says, "The past can hurt, but the way I see it, you can either run from it, or learn from it." Wise words from a silly baboon. Love that movie.
Anyway, the poem was kinda wordy. But as I started typing up my rough draft, I kept adding and adding to it. There just wasn't enough that could be said. I hope you enjoyed it though! Thanks for reading!

i messed up
i messed up
i
made a mistake
i
feel like a hopeless wreck
how
do i fix it
what
can i do
is
there even anything i can do
can
i make things better somehow
is
there anything
yes
there is
i
will change
things
can change
things
will change
they
will be better
i
know it
i
can feel it
i have faith
I like this poem. I enjoyed playing with format and I like the idea of also playing around with punctuation as well as capitalization. As you might have noticed, this poem has neither of those things. There have been times in my life where I feel like I've failed at some things or may not have done as good as what I had hoped. Nothing always go according to your plans. But, there is good news: There is a glimmer of hope and a silver lining. I'm still young. I'm only 21. Heck, I've got my whole life ahead of me. Things can change and things will change. I just need to brush the dirt off and get back up from a low. I have the faith that I can make a difference to what the rest of my life will be like. I also hope to make that faith in myself and what is around me grow. I think that everyone needs to know that once you reach a low, the only place that you can go is back up. Start anew and be optimistic! :-D
